Tobacco products
In accordance with the Tobacco Products Control Act 2007/ Ammendment Act 2024 as of 1st August 2024, prohibition of imports, sale, or distribution of imitation tobacco products applies to a person who:
- Is a Cook Islander or a permanent resident (including permanent resident by descent or honorary permanent resident) and
- Has not resided outside the Cook Islands for at least the previous 6 months
- Holds a work permit under the Cook Islands Immigration Act 2021 or
- Is under 21 years of age

IMITATION TOBACCO PRODUCT [VAPE/ E-CIGARETTE]
A person who is in breach of section 4B, subsection (4) of the Tobacco Products Control Amendment Act commits an offence:
i). Individual: Fine not exceeding $100,000 or not exceeding 3 months in prison or both ii). In any other case: Fine not exceeding $1,000,000+ additional fine of $100,000 for every day the offence continues

Medicinal Cannabis
Please ensure you have the following:
- Prescription under YOUR NAME by an OVERSEAS MEDICAL PRACTITIONER
- Evidence that that the controlled drug is PRESCRIBED by an OVERSEAS MEDICAL PRACTITIONER
- The controlled drug is in the PACKAGING which it was DISPENSED in
- The LABEL on the PACKAGING REMAINS intact and legible
- Must NOT IMPORT or have POSSESSION an amount that is MORE THAN
a). Reasonably necessary for personal used in accordance with the PRESCRIPTION b). In any case be USED in 1 month
EVIDENCE to accompany the controlled drug:
a). Name of the PERSON whom the controlled drug is PRESCRIBED to; and
b). Name of the PRODUCT that contains the controlled drug PRESCRIBED; and
c). Total PRESCRIBED DOSE of that product; and
d). Name of the OVERSEAS MEDICAL PRACTITIONER who PRESCRIBED the controlled drug e). MEDICAL PRACTITIONER registration number
OVERSEAS MEDICAL PRACTITIONER means:
A person who is registered as a medical practitioner by the competent authority of a foreign country
