Young people aged 12 to 15 years on Aitutaki, Mitiaro and Atiu have had the opportunity to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, so too have a number of adults who missed out first time around.
On Aitutaki a total of 144 youth received their first dose, representing 82.3% of the eligible population; on Atiu 28 of 12-15 year olds received their first dose, representing 84.8% of the eligible population, and on Mitiaro 100% of the 12-15 year old population (12) received their first dose last week.
Across the 3 islands, 63 adults (16 years and over) received their first vaccination dose and 7 adults received their second dose.
The vaccination team will arrive in Mauke this Wednesday – 27 October.
The second dose for those on Rarotonga will be administered this Saturday (8am-7pm) and Sunday (8am-4pm).
The vaccination team will be in Mangaia next Monday and Tuesday and then travelling to Aitutaki to deliver the second dose on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th November.
